What is Urogynecology?

A urogynecologist is a gynecologist or urologist with advanced training, education, and certification in the evaluation and treatment of women with urinary symptoms (including involuntary leakage, frequent urination, and bladder pain), bowel symptoms (including involuntary leakage and constipation), and pelvic relaxation defects (loss of support of the pelvic organs such as the bladder, uterus, and rectum).  The formal name for our specialty is Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.

Meet the Physician

 

Sarah St. Louis, MD, FACOG graduated from Winter Park High School in Winter Park, FL and then went on to graduate with a degree in Chemistry from Spelman College in 2003.  She received her medical degree from Howard University and then completed her internship in General Surgery at the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University.  Her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology was at the Hofstra North Shore-Long Island Jewish School of Medicine in NY.  She also completed a sub-specialty fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery at Atlantic Health System in Morristown, NJ.  Dr. St. Louis is Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and has published and presented multiple peer reviewed medical papers.  She specializes in robotic surgery, female pelvic reconstructive vaginal surgery, and urogynecology at her private practice in Orlando, FL.  Dr. St. Louis is President of the Central Florida Medical Society and enjoys spending time with her family in Orlando, FL.
